My whips sit well under makeup, and remain on skin for multiple hours keeping you hydrated without a greasy feel. I work in the sun and wind most of the day and I find they serve as a protective barrier on my face.

* This is a 100% natural and handmade product so each batch’s scent and consistency may vary.

Tallow may firm or soften in shipping depending on temperature. Since there are no preservatives added I highly recommend to store in a dark, cool place or in fridge. Can spoil if any water gets into jar so use clean dry hands or cosmetic scoop provided.

Beef Tallow: Tallow shares simular biology to our own skin. It is incredibly compatible with all skin types. It is non-comedogenic (non pore clogging) Can help reduce stretch marks, signs of aging and fine lines, help eczema + psoriasis, prevent scarring, sun burn relief and soothe acne. A true super food for your skin! Grass fed and finished beef tallow is especially packed full of fat-soluble vitamins, antioxidants, peptides, & omega 3. It protects the skin's surface all day long from free radicals and increases elastin.

Jojoba oil: jojoba oil is an amazing versatile carrier oil suitable for all skin types including mature skin, sensitive skin, oily skin and acne.  It will revitalize your skin, offering deep hydration without clogging pores. Both tallow and jojoba oil mirror the sebum of human skin and work wonders together. Jojoba oil can help maintain skin's softness and suppleness, promoting a smooth and refined skin texture. It offers lightweight, non-greasy hydration and absorbs quickly. It is rich in vitamin E and omega 3.

Rosehip oil: Organic rosehip oil possesses brightening properties that even out your skin tone, leaving your complexion radiant and revitalized. It is rich in fatty acids. The retinoids in rosehip oil can help brighten your skin, prevent blackheads, and reduce inflammation. Rosehip oil also contains linoleic acid, a fatty acid that can aid acne prevention and shrink pimples. It may help treat eczema, an inflammation of the skin. The thinner consistency of rosehip oil ensures quick absorption, allowing its benefits to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Olive squalane: Squalane is also close to human skin. It is able to penetrate the skin quickly and easily to hydrate, enhance elasticity and resilience. It boosts the skin’s water retention, leaving it looking and feeling hydrated, smoother, and softer to the touch without leaving a greasy or sticky residue. It helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, promotes skin cell rejuvenation, and protects against the harsh effects of UV radiation and pollution. Its non-comedogenic quality makes squalane suitable for all skin types, even oily complexions. Teamed up with rosehip, jojoa oil and tallow makes this recipe perfect for all skin types.

Jasmine essential oil: Jasmine is reffered to as the king of essentail oils. It is sweet and soothing. A sensual, smooth, strong floral smell promoting a sense of harmony. It takes 8,000 carefully hand-picked blossoms to produce 1 gram (about 1 ml.) of Jasmine Absolute, making this whip slightly more expensive but worth every penny!

Vanilla essential oil: One of the most popular aromas, it has a comforting and relaxing scent. Its known to reduce stress and tension in the body.

Honey: Honey has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for various ailments including treating burns and cuts, and soothing sunburns. Raw honey, in particular, is rich in nutrients and enzymes that can benefit the skin. Honey's natural humectant properties make it an effective moisturizer. It has been found to help reduce inflammation and redness, balance skin tone, hydrate dry skin, and improve acne breakouts. Enzyme activity in honey enables it to penetrate deeply into the skin and bring hydration to the underlying layers. This results in plumper, softer skin with a natural radiant glow.

  • What is the deal with tallow?

    What is tallow?

Tallow has been used in various cultures as skincare for thousands of years. It is rendered beef fat, specifically suet (organ fat) Once fat is heated it liquifies into a smooth yellow oil separated from the tissues. My tallow is sourced from either my own grass-fed and finished cattle or other local Calgary regenerative farms.

    The science:

Tallow shares simular biology to our own skin.

I highly recommend using as an overnight firming face cream as it retains moisture for hours and hours!

    Head to tail sustainability:

Being a byproduct of the beef industry, tallow is the most natural and environmentally friendly skincare product you can purchase! Something my ancestors have been doing for thousands of years is utilizing the entire animal head to tail. Not only is this practice environmentally friendly but honoring the animals in this way is something important to me and a reason why I’ve gotten into this business. My tallow is 100% natural, biodegradable and sourced from regenerative farms.

    Natural benefits:

I am at risk for cancer and deal with other health ailments so I recently started looking for more organic foods and beauty products. Discovering tallow, I also discovered how beautifully natural it truly is. Most of the products in your bathroom at this moment have MANY harmful chemicals. You might also notice a warning stating “do not ingest” …. our skin absorbs everything put on it. I know this from being allergic to peanuts: if a peanut touches the skin of someone with a severe allergy the oil can absorb instantly and they can go into anaphylactic shock in only two minutes. If our skin has this ability to absorb everything that touches it, why would we want to put these harmful toxins on it daily? I wanted a skin cream that actually worked and was still 100% natural and tallow was the perfect answer.

Isn’t beef fat on your face a little strange ….?

I also thought this when I first heard about it. But, learning all the facts and seeing how beautiful it is when done correct, I fell in love. If done properly, with a proper fat source, whipped tallow is smooth, white, and the scent is very very mild. I often think the plain tallow scent smells like a fresh pie crust. I like to add essential oils not only for their beautiful fragrances but their amazing healing properties. My “Plain Jane” is fragrance-free.

I use a dry rendering method that takes me 12-16 hours a batch. My method removes the beefy scent and leaves it soft and smooth. "Wet" rendering can strip the nutrients from tallow and the water used can make tallow less shelf stable. Water in tallow allows bacteria to get trapped. I highly recommend not getting any moisture into your jars.
